Epic Pinterest Success: Ice Cream Cone Christmas Trees!

I actually saw a friend post photos of her cute kids doing this project, which she found on Pinterst, and decided I needed to add ice cream cones immediately to my grocery list.

Today I went grocery shopping.

And after school, I had a surprise for the kids! Edible holiday project time!!!

Which, by the looks on 3 of their 4 faces, you would think was a very serious matter.

So, First and most important, put some icing on the plate and stick the cone down so it doesn’t tip over/slide around!

Then you cover the cones in green icing.

And then decorate with delicious candies like M&M’s, colored chocolate chips, and sprinkles. Like tiny, irresistible ornaments made of chocolate. Which are clearly the best and most delicious kind of ornaments imaginable!

Your children will sit around the table, happy and chatting. It will feel like Christmas time. You will eat far too many M&M’s while you help. They will be delicious. Children will get frosting in their hair. But they will be cute anyways.

And finished products will likely look like the best thing you’ve ever tried from Pinterest!

Now the only question left is…..how does one eat such a thing?

I think Vi figured it out…..

Something this fun and delicious must be equally messy!

Having two parents in school can be tough. I hate to admit it, but we don’t have nearly enough time to do these kind of spur of the moment fun things as I would like lately. I am on Christmas Break from now until January 21st and I intend to make the most of it! I was so happy to have time for some random, silly, messy fun with my kids. If you’ve got any other great (and tested for success!) Pinterest finds to fill our holiday break I’d love to see them!

I remember making these as a kid!!! So much fun! Definitely tricky to eat though!(: Have you all made gingerbread houses yet? Or you could make peppermint chocolate cookies! Those are quite yummy! I love the picture of Little Man at the end! Totally cracked me up and my roommates just looked at me funny haha(: thank you for the sweet post!
