Throughout his career and his post-career as a professional footballer, Diego Armando Maradona has attracted the interest of brands.
In a previous article, we offered you a retrospective of the main advertisements of the Argentine star. On this occasion, we learned that Maradona had partnered with the Italian pasta brand Paone to create the “N°10 Diego” pasta brand in 2020.
Behind this association, we find Alejandro Octavio Quentin, an Argentinian born in Buenos Aires of an Argentinian mother and an Italian father. His family made a fortune in the agri-food sector.
In 2019, Alejandro Octavio Quentin bought thePaone pasta factory and in the month of December he proposes to Diego Armando Maradona to create a brand of pasta in his effigy. A contract is then signed allowing Paone to use Maradona’s image and name. The “Pasta Maradona” was then born around the brand name “N°10 Diego”.
The marketing of Maradona pasta was launched a few weeks before the disappearance of the Argentinian. In details, 9 pasta sizes “N°10 Diego” were designed for the launch. Packages sold at the price of 1.55 euros.
After closing its online store for a few days following the death of Diego Maradona, “Pasta Maradona” resumed its online sales activities a few days ago.
