Shih Tzu found in dire condition bounces to his feet and finds his dream home

Rescued with another dog, Milo was so neglected that volunteers struggled to distinguish the front of his body from the back. Almost a year and a half after his rescue, this dog is totally unrecognizable. Its former owner was sentenced by the courts.

In Ireland, a man was found guilty of neglecting his 2 dogs, one of which did not survive. The other, responding to the name of Milo, was luckier, thanks in part to the hard work of the veterinarians and volunteers who cared for him. A story told by the Mirror.

The rescue of Milo took place in January 2021. This Shih Tzu was living in terrible conditions with another dog, an English Springer called Gizmo. The 2 canids were kept in a kind of small enclosure with a makeshift shelter. At the mercy of the elements, they evolved in the mud and in the middle of their own excrement.

The SPCA Irish (ISCA) had intervened following a complaint for an entirely different matter. Gizmo was, alas, in such bad shape that he had to be euthanized soon after. The veterinarians and the team from the animal protection association did everything to save Milo.

New life for Milo, its condemned owner

His coat was so thick, dirty, and matted that they had trouble telling the front of his body from the back. Groomed, cared for, fed and pampered, he gradually recovered. A few months later, he was placed in foster care.

On May 5, its former owner Norman Valentine appeared in court. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a fine of 936 pounds (1100 euros). He must also pay 1,500 euros in legal costs and pay 667.58 euros in compensation to theISCA.

Today, Milo is doing wonderfully and enjoying her new life, far from neglect and suffering.
