A 31-year-old man from Sainte-Foy-de-Longas in the Dordogne was sentenced to one year in prison by the Bergerac criminal court on Monday, May 23, for repeated violence with a weapon and repeated driving without a license.
Saturday evening, it is very hot, the man has been drinking. Even though he doesn’t have a driver’s license, he takes his Clio and skids for about ten minutes in front of his Dutch neighbor’s house. Irritated by the barking of his neighbor’s dog, he goes home, takes an air rifle and shoots in the air several times to silence the animal. The neighbor talks about twenty shots.
The man, known to Justice, was arrested on Sunday afternoon by the gendarmes and placed in police custody. At first he disputes and then ends up recognizing the facts.
The Bergerac Criminal Court sentenced him to one year in prison, with a committal order.
