This Monday was the Michelin Guide Ceremony. The opportunity to discover the new stars of the country. Among the surprises of the day, we note the coronation of Yves Mattagne. A year after the reopening of Villa Lorraine, the chef and his team have achieved the feat of winning two stars. The capital thus has three two-star establishments in addition to La Paix and Chalet de la Forêt (Bon Bon closing its doors very soon and Comme chez Soi having unexpectedly lost one of its stars).

A star regular
It must be said that the chef and the establishment are big regulars in the Michelin Guide. Yves Mattagne won his first star three decades ago (in 1991) before winning the second in 1997, with his former restaurant the Sea Grill. La Villa Lorraine, for its part, had the honor of being the very first three-starred restaurant by the Michelin Guide outside of France. A new wind has been blowing through this historic restaurant since it was taken over by the Litvine family and Yves Mattagne.
Beaming, the chef thanked his team and his entourage. “To have stars is not to salute the work of one person, but that of many people who have worked with me for a very long time. I would like to thank the Litvine family who allowed me to take over Villa Lorraine with them and especially Fabrice (the chef’s loyal right-hand man who provides the service in the dining room, editor’s note) who has accompanied me for 25 years and who never never left. And Charles, my new chef, who was already with me at the Sea Grill and who still works with me today. We will continue to do what we have always done, which is to please customers, because that is our job.”concluded the chef to the applause of the audience.
